Operating in Cherry Creek since 2001, Pilates of Cherry Creek is one of the oldest studios in Denver. The instructors at Pilates of Cherry Creek represent a wide arrange of disciplines but share a single philosophy “Pilates is for every body.” We believe that the Pilates method holds benefits for people of all ages and abilities. We strive to tailor our classes and private sessions to meet the specific needs of our clientele while providing a safe and challenging workout.
Deborah Cassel, PMA®-CPT, Owner Pilates of Cherry Creek
Deborah Cassel has been co-owner and operator of Pilates of Cherry Creek since 2008. Deborah has an extensive Pilates education. Originally certified through Polestar and Physical Mind Institute in 2004, she has also completed Classical Pilates instruction (through the Romana Kryzanowska lineage) and has completed continuing education through the Stott repertoire. Deborah finds joy in adapting Pilates to people of all abilities. She has experience working with people with Multiple Sclerosis, Fibromyalgia, and is extremely talented at finding ways to make Pilates work for you. Her classes are known for being challenging and creative, you'll never do the same routine twice! Deborah is also a certified through the World Paddle Association as a Paddlefit I and II instructor, you can check out her Stand Up Paddle Board Pilates classes summer through September. In addition to teaching Pilates and running the studio, Deborah continues to dance and enjoys snowboarding, downhill mountain biking and surfing. In 2013, ever on the search for her next adventure, she added a second studio to her list of duties, taking on ownership and management of Pilates Maui (www.pilatesmaui.com).
Alexis finds that Pilates is the perfect complement to her love for health and fitness. The Pilates Method provides a mind-body approach to fitness that restores balance to the body for everyday living. She has seen personally and professionally that regular practice increases flexibility, stability and strength. Alexis is also a licensed Pilates for Buff Bones™ instructor and teaches a class specifically for bodies suffering from osteoporosis and low bone density. enjoys working with all body types and finds it such a thrill to help others discover how amazing the human body is!
Born and raised in Colorado, Alexis graduated from Colorado State University in 2007 with a BA in Graphic Design. She continues doing design work when she is not teaching Pilates. Alexis has a passion for running, enjoys lifting weights, and loves spending time with family and friends. Her intention has always been to help people lead healthier lives and feels that sharing her passion for Pilates is a great way to start!
Brooke grew up outside of Cleveland, Ohio and attended Bucknell University in Pennsylvania for her undergraduate degree in Sociology and Spanish. She then continued on to get her graduate degree in Social Work at the University of Chicago. Brooke was first introduced to Pilates in high school when she started taking classes with her mother. She immediately recognized the mind and body benefits of Pilates and continued to finesse her techniques while in school. After moving to Denver, Brooke wanted to be able to share her positive Pilates experience with others and began the teacher certification program at Pilates of Cherry Creek. She enjoys introducing new clients to Pilates and helping more experienced clients further develop their skills in hopes that they will discover her same passion for Pilates.
Christina Frank, PMA®-CPT
Christina is a Certified Pilates Instructor through both PMA and Balanced Body. She started off as a Personal Trainer and Cycle Instructor before moving full time into the Pilates field, and is strongly influenced by her fitness background. She believes Pilates can be used effectively to promote both fitness and rehabilitation. When used correctly it’s appropriate for an athlete or a post-surgery patient.
Christina is a native of Boulder but spend most of her adult life in Washington DC, where she pursue a career in theatre; she holds and MFA from the University of Iowa in Acting. She started working in fitness in order to gain strength for physical theatre work, and stumbled upon her true calling as a Pilates instructor. She moved back to Colorado to further her love of Pilates, enjoy the mountains, and be near family.
Lisa has been a fully certified instructor since 2002. She began her teaching career at the largest and most renowned Pilates studio in New York City, where she became a senior instructor, developing and conducting the first safe, effective Pilates workout for expectant mothers. While teaching there, Lisa’s celebrity client list included Christy Turlington, Sonia Braga, Sofia Vergara, Amy Poehler, and Campbell Brown, to name but a few.
Lisa has certifications in prenatal and postnatal fitness, as well as nutrition counseling, and also offers guided meditation and relaxation techniques for stress reduction. Lisa’s clients receive personalized programs, tailored to meet the specific needs of each individual.
Lisa was formally trained in classical ballet from the age of ten at the Joffrey Ballet School where she was a scholarship student. Physical activity has always been a way of life for Lisa, so becoming a Pilates instructor was a natural progression.
